Let's face it, you won't love your family any less if they all decide to wear their favourite outfit and honestly, that may just be the look you're going for, although you may just love your photos a lot more if you take some time to think about what you'll all wear to look the best you can together!

While you don't all want to match, because yes, let's agree it's dated and also doesn't look so great.  BUT if you all co-ordinate but don't match, it can look fabulous and timeless.  It will also help so you are not running around at the last minute trying to sort clothes....less stress means everyone is happy!

My suggestions are choose two main colours and then use softer tones to play up and complete your colour scheme.  Layers and textures work great to bring interest to clothes too!

Where is your location and what season is it?  Select colour schemes that will compliment the setting.

A big one for me though is NO logo prints and watch out for distracting patterns and super bright colours.  If you do want someone to wear a stripe or print, do not put everyone in it.  I like to to make sure Mum has her outfit chosen first and then work other family members around this. Mum is likely going to be the most critical of how she looks, I know because I'm a mum too!

The most important thing of all, make sure everyone is comfortable in what they're wearing!  If not this will show in your photos and what we really want in the end is everyone to be happy and relaxed and excited for their photo session!
